Top Ten at Daytona!

(compliments of speedtv.com)

What an awesome week! First Jr. wins the Bud Shootout - first time out for Hendrick Motorsports - then he wins the Gatorade 150 qualifying and starts 3rd in the 50th Annual Daytona 500!
No doubts now about Dale Jr.'s talent or the versatility of the Car Of Today - but what happened in the pits? With no team mates in the top ten, he could really have used newer tires. But he makes no excuses, supporting his pit crew and crew chief, Tony Jr. If there was miscommunication, he's not admitting it, blaming only his choice of lines.

What a dismal day for his Hendrick teammates. But the 88 National Guard/Amp car was strong, going to the front alone, earning those crucial extra 5 points, using the side draft to stay there, then finally getting shuffled back when Kurt Busch teamed up with Ryan Newman to push Newman's Dodge to the win.

Dale Jr. finished 9th, putting him 8th in the points. Check out the results at http://nascar.speedtv.com.
